Tidelands Caribbean Hotel & Suites

Stayed here for Ocean's Calling. Great location and short walk to the festival. Staff were nice, room was clean and spacious, building was not noisy. Would definitely stay again.

We stayed on the 5th floor 7/6-7/10 our room was very spacious and clean! The only thing about the room is the mini fridge was rusty and sharp on the bottom and if you plan on cooking bring your own pots and pans other than that the room was great. The service was amazing and the workers were extremely friendly and helpful. The pool deck needs to be fixed as it had a lot of holes in it but the pool is a good size for small children. The partial ocean view was still very pretty! Also the elevator inspection expired in February and the button to go down has to be hit a certain way I would highly recommend replacing the inspection license.

We took my daughter for her first vacation ever. They upgraded us to a beach view room on the boardwalk due to the side room having an issue. The staff was kind and helpful. No it’s not a perfect hotel but for the location, price, and amenities, it saved us money. The parking was close enough to walk to many of the spots we wanted to see. The kitchen was small but saved us money on eating out for every meal. The rooms were basic but comfortable. The view was fantastic. It is in a central location and not super loud at night. They had a small staff which did their best to help accommodate needs for more towels. Our balcony door had issues opening which they didn’t get to fixing during our stay. Overall it was a decent and affordable place to stay. Safe too.

10/10, would stay here again. No sand on the floor, nice to have a little kitchenette, beds were clean, exactly what you need for a weekend at the beach. Mickey at the front desk was the MVP, helpful and kind any time you passed through the lobby. Thank you!

Everything was clean and the view was beautiful. The workers were nice and accommodating. The ac worked really well (for those complaining about it). Every time we ordered food the delivery was very quick, even when it was pouring rain and midnight. The only issue was that there wasnt really any shampoo and conditioner and when we asked for more we never got more.

Another wonderful week at Tidelands for us! We can’t wait to be back next year! I’ve seen a lot of negative reviews and I am hoping this review will help some people decide if this is the place for them. If you are looking for the finest of everything do not book here. You will likely be disappointed. But if you are looking for a spacious, clean, and conveniently located place to stay this is it. This year there were some flaws in our room but nothing that negatively impacted our stay. There was a lamp without a light bulb… no big deal… I’m sure if we asked they would have brought us one. There was some cosmetic things with the bathroom sink but it functioned just fine and there were no safety risks. There were some blemishes on the floor from wear and tear but they were clean and again no safety risks. This is an older hotel at the beach. You will not find perfection here. You will however find a comfortable and safe place to spend your time when you need to relax. The pools were clean and we saw someone cleaning the pool on the second floor daily. All the staff we encountered were great! We were checked on almost daily to see if we needed anything. When we requested towels after we had already said we didn’t need anything housekeeping kindly provided them with no issues. Front desk service was great as well. The pool bar staff were great and the food was amazing! So if you are low key down to earth like we are you will be more than satisfied with the accommodations.

What a gem of a place to stay! I'll keep it simple.... PROS: -Location, location, location - close to SOOO much - we never used the car. Close enough to inlet but far enough that you don't hear the noise from the rides, etc. -Rooms - we had a 2 king bed room and it was plenty of room for 4 people! I was worried we'd be tripping over each other but it was fantastic - lots of dresser space and places to put our stuff. The efficiency kitchen had all we needed, included a sponge, dish towel and dish soap. Everything was VERY clean. Beds are SUPER comfy!!! We are VERY picky about beds and the beds, linens and pillows were superb! -Pools - love that there were 2 pools - one that was quieter where you can take your own drinks/snacks and one that was by the bar and a bit more lively where you order drinks and food. The food and drinks were good! -Staff - this is one of the biggest pros of staying here. EVERY SINGLE staff member we passed in the hallway or rode the elevator with was super friendly. They would say hello, chat, ask if we needed anything. It is rare to get this kind of treatment by staff, even in a high end hotel. We were so pleasantly surprised and it really made our stay to be treated to warmly!! I hope the leadership in this place recognizes their great staff!! -Accessible - I have a rare disease and can only walk about 1/2 block, so I always use a cane and often a wheelchair. This hotel is VERY accessible, even at the pools. There is enough space (at least in the off season) to park my wheelchair and not have it be in anyone's way. Also staff was attentive and would offer to help or get me anything I needed. I FELT SEEN! :) :) CONS (but not really): -Rooms - so like just about any place we stay, especially at a busy place like the beach, there were some areas of the room that could use some fixing. Overall the rooms honestly were fine, but there was a big gash in the bathroom door, curtains were kind of dirty on the back, and just little things that I think every hotel could pay better attention to. I'm not sure I'd even say this was a con. I'm pretty picky and I was totally ok staying here - this is just a plea to hotels to PLEASE pay attention to little things that take minimal time and money to fix. -Balcony - they are tiny, but we knew that going into it - just want people to be aware. Again, not really a con, just is what it is. I did wish there was even a tiny table out there for somewhere to set your drink/phone). So overall we really liked it here and would definitely stay again. Like I said, with staff this friendly it's hard to walk away NOT happy. :) :)

The hotel is on the boardwalk, we had a side view of the ocean, which was just as good as ocean front, we can see the ocean, boardwalk. It definitely not a top tier, the rooms and bathrooms need to be up dated, the room phone was not working properly the front could hear me ,but I can hear her, the building over all need to be renovated, the room was clean. So that’s why it gets a 3 stars rating
